There are a few items that seem to go hand-in-hand with cloth diapering and with pocket diapers specifically; pail liners, inserts, doublers, wetbags and cloth wipes.
Inserts
Every pocket diaper needs an insert to work. Some pocket diaper manufacturers make an insert specifically designed for their diapers while others do not. Inserts range in construction from elaborate, multi-layered items with gender-specific absorbent areas and contoured sides to something as simple as a prefold or towel folded to fit in the pocket. They are typically hemp, microfiber terry cloth, cotton or a combination of these. You can shop for inserts here or specify them as an add-on when shopping for diapers.
Doublers
When used in pocket diapers, doublers are are used in conjunction with an insert to offer extra absorbency when you need it like at naptime or overnight. Like inserts, doublers vary in construction and material and therefore are easily customizable to your baby’s specific needs.
When used with fitted or prefold diapers, doublers are typically layered inside the diaper to offer more absorbancy. Stay-dry doublers offer a top layer of microfiber fleece leaving the layer next to baby`s skin dry and pulling the moisture through.
